What the confirmed songs already tell us
Six officially-used tracks — Tom Petty, The Pointer Sisters, Tammy Wynette, Wang Chung, Jay Ferguson, and Haitian kompa from Zenglen — are a deliberate spread: heartland rock, 80s funk-pop, classic country, new wave, yacht rock, Caribbean. That range in just the marketing material signals the widest dial in series history. The kompa choice is the most telling: real Miami is a Caribbean music capital, and Rockstar picking Zenglen over an obvious pop cut says the soundtrack is being built around the place, not around chart nostalgia alone.
Prediction 1: the 80s core returns, but as one flavor among many
V-Rock's confirmed return guarantees a classic-rock/hair-metal lane, and the Vintage Vice City pre-order pack shows Rockstar leaning into 2002 nostalgia. But modern Vice City is a contemporary setting — expect the 80s material to anchor two or three stations, not the whole dial.
Prediction 2: the biggest rap and Latin representation in series history
A contemporary Miami-inspired city without drill, trap, reggaeton and Latin pop would be unrecognizable. GTA V already gave hip-hop multiple stations a decade ago. Add the persistent (unconfirmed) reports of artist-curated stations — producer Jermaine Dupri has claimed the format exists, naming Drake as an example — and the likeliest headline feature is major artists hosting their own stations, the way GTA V used Flying Lotus and Frank Ocean. Rumor status: unproven but consistent across multiple industry voices.
Prediction 3: a Caribbean/kompa/soca station
Zenglen in official material is hard to read any other way. A dedicated Haitian/Caribbean station would be a series first and fits Little Haiti's visible presence in trailer footage. This is our highest-confidence structural prediction.

Names connected to the project through leaks and industry chatter: T-Pain (who has publicly discussed working with Rockstar), Ski Mask the Slump God, ScHoolboy Q, Neon Indian, Skrilla. None are official. Notably absent from credible chatter: any confirmed pop megastar — Rockstar historically prefers deep cuts and scene credibility over chart royalty.
