Watch both official GTA 6 trailers
Both videos live on Rockstar's official YouTube channel. Everything below comes from these two uploads.
GTA 6 Trailer 1 (December 2023)
Trailer 1 arrived on December 5, 2023, released early the morning after it leaked online. In ninety seconds it introduced Leonida — Rockstar's modern take on Florida — and the lead Lucia, opening on a masked store robbery and running on Tom Petty's "Love Is a Long Road" from the seven-second mark to the end.
The reaction set the tone for the whole campaign: about 93 million YouTube views in 24 hours, the most for any non-music video on the platform at the time and a Guinness World Record for the most-viewed video-game trailer in a single day.
GTA 6 Trailer 2 (May 2025)
Trailer 2 landed on May 6, 2025, seventeen months later and much longer at two minutes, forty-seven seconds. It gave Lucia a partner, Jason, toured Leonida's beaches, swamps and neighborhoods, and leaned into the pair's Bonnie-and-Clyde relationship. Its music was The Pointer Sisters' "Hot Together" and, playing from a car radio, Zenglen's Haitian kompa track "Child Support."
Did GTA 6 Trailer 2 break the view record?
Yes and no, and the difference is worth knowing. Rockstar said Trailer 2 drew more than 475 million views across all platforms in 24 hours and called it the biggest video launch of all time, ahead of the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer (365 million) and The Fantastic Four: First Steps (200 million).
That 475 million is a combined all-platforms number. On YouTube by itself, Trailer 2's first day stayed short of Trailer 1's roughly 93 million. So Trailer 2 owns the cross-platform launch record, while Trailer 1 still holds the bigger single-day YouTube figure of the two — the same footage, measured two different ways.
Is a GTA 6 Trailer 3 coming?
Rockstar has not announced a video called Trailer 3. The next official presentation is titled An Extended Look and premieres August 27, 2026 — Netflix at 3 p.m. ET, then free on YouTube at 9 p.m. ET. A separately numbered Trailer 3 could still appear closer to launch, but nothing confirms one. More on why the name matters: Rockstar may skip a numbered Trailer 3.
The music in the GTA 6 trailers
Six songs are tied to the two trailers and official material, and three of them can be matched to the moments they play. The full list, with a player, is on the GTA 6 music page.
