Rockstar may skip GTA 6 Trailer 3

The August 27 Extended Look may replace a numbered Trailer 3 and carry the rest of GTA VI's pre-launch reveal cycle.

Do not assume a video called Trailer 3 is still coming before launch. The August 27 Extended Look has its own title, its own premiere window and enough room to do the job of several conventional trailers.

Why the name matters

Rockstar called the first two videos Trailer 1 and Trailer 2. The next presentation is being sold as An Extended Look. That sounds less like another two-minute montage and more like the point where marketing moves from mood to systems: how robberies flow, what Jason and Lucia can do, how Leonida opens up and what the game looks like when someone is actually controlling it.

What we expect

Our bet is that the Extended Look becomes the main footage package for the final twelve weeks. Short television spots and character clips can be cut from it without Rockstar ever needing a separately numbered Trailer 3.

A Trailer 3 could still appear close to release. But if August 27 contains sustained gameplay, a mission slice and a proper tour of Leonida, the numbered trailer everyone keeps waiting for may simply never be part of this campaign.
